SSL certificate

After the last update iOS 15.5 I couldn't access my mail account - authentication required. I deleted the account, entered the credentials again and I get a pop up with the message: "cannot connect using SSL. Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL (yes/no)".

when I click "Yes" another pop up says: Cannot get mail - no password provided. go to mail/ account settings/ enter password. I cannot enter a password for an account that is new and is in the process of setting up.

When I click "no" nothing happens.

Please advise

Hello,

THank you for your response. I followed the instruction for the SSL/TLS trust, but there is no button for "turn on for trust certificate". pls check the screenshot attached.

Waiting for your feedback.

Hey Jelena,

If you use your iPhone for work or school emails, the profile may need to be configured again by administration or your IT department. You can look for profiles from Settings > General > Device Management. Check out Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple Support for details. Once you have the profile installed or reconfigured, you should be able to set up your email and turn on SSL/TLS trust as mentioned in the previously shared article, Trust manually installed certificate profiles in iOS and iPadOS - Apple Support.

Take care.

Hello JelenaIvanovic,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

Check these steps: "You must manually turn on trust for SSL/TLS when you install a profile that is sent to you via email or downloaded from a website.

If you want to turn on SSL/TLS trust for that certificate, go to Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings. Under "Enable full trust for root certificates," turn on trust for the certificate."

This Apple Support page has the full details: Trust manually installed certificate profiles in iOS and iPadOS - Apple Support

If the account is not using SSL, try adding it manually with these steps: Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Please let us know if you have further questions.

Cheers!
