Calendar Alert Sound Not Changing - iPhone 13, iOS 15.5

My Calendar alert sound will not change. I've changed my Calendar alert and notification sounds via Settings>Notifications>Calendar>Sounds and Sounds & Haptics>Calendar Alerts, but no matter what sound I select and what sound is displayed as selected in settings it still plays a previous alert sound. I've turned my phone off/on, turned calendar notifications off/on, turned alert vibration off/on. The same previous alert sound just won't go away.

Any suggestions?

I have been an Apple user for more than 30 years! But by now I almost DISAPPROVE their hardware and software including iOS!

THE SOLUTION personally verified with iOS15.7.1 is unfortunately proceeding with

General>Reset>Reset All Settings (this will erase all notifications settings and let it work the change of Calendar Alert sound).

Apple are you reading these reports, do something. You have only issued the bleeding obvious, we all know how to change the alerts, the problem it does not accept the one we select, it ticks it as the sound you want but does not carry through with the change, do you understand what we are getting upset about, or is apple hoping we will go away, well if we do we will talk to google pixel or samsung about a new phone

I agree with Nuttee on this one. Apple’s standard response is to do the obvious, “select the sound”. If they read the reports they’d realize that we have all done that and done some proper trouble-shooting on our parts. This is either a bot responding to our reports, or they just don’t care.

Better advice on their parts would be; “Get rid of your crappy iPhone that was way too expensive and doesn’t do the simplest thing and go buy an Android or a Pixel…”

@jatoav8or: I’m glad you have a bearable work-around. I paid $2000 for a phone that doesn’t work right. I’m not about to buy another of their products to try and make the first one do what it should.

I haven't done a reset myself so I don't know for certain, but my understanding is that you will lose everything on your phone., Photos, Contacts, Old Message strings, all your apps, Music, all personal settings...

In my case, all that other personal stuff is much more important than the sounds generated by the Calendar App.

I suspect a backup will not help either, as it would just reintroduce the problem. It certainly transferred with my phone when I upgraded to an Iphone 14 recently. Thats pretty much the equivalent of a Reset.

The trick will be to save your personal data in individual sets of data and reimport it after the reset, but how you could do that I have no idea.

I use a Windows PC, so I can't help with Ipad or Mac ways of doing this. Maybe there is an App that may help.

A Reset is a very blunt instrument. Personally, I advise putting up with the Calendar sounds as they are.
