My Mac book pro restarts whenever I enter my password

Most likely, a startup item is either missing or corrupted. These are run immediately after entering your user account password.
I suggest starting up your MacBook in Safe Mode to see if it can successfully gain access to the macOS Desktop. If it can, we can go over some troubleshooting steps to try to resolve this. If not, then there may be a more serious issue that will need to be looked at further.
