Using Outgoing Mail Server from a different account?

on an iPhone (iphone 8, ios 15.4.1), is it possible to use one account's Outgoing Mail Server from a different account? in Mail.app on a Mac, its easy -- just choose the other account in the drop-down.

since Google no longer supports "Less secure app access", its now impossible to use the gmail SMTP server with just a username and password, which is what every support and help page on the internet describes. but again, on a mac, set up the google account (which then creates an OAuth token), and use its smtp configuration with some other account.

it seems that mail on iOS should support something similar?

Use a New App Password:

Do you use an App Password? If so, try a new App Password. Sometimes, changes (i.e. updates) are made to the device, and then mail server syncing becomes an issue (which is what a new App Password it intended to fix). Go here for gmail: Sign in with App Passwords - Google Account Help - Google
