M1 Mac loses cursor on external monitor

I am using a Dell P2419H 24 Inch Full HD Monitor with my 14" M1 Macbook with an HDMI interface. Most mostly it works fine. However, the cursor keeps disappearing from my external monitor and showing up on the laptop screen. Is there any way to fix this in system preferences?

Hello turing cop,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

If we understand your post correctly, the cursor keeps disappearing on your external monitor that you're using with your MacBook Pro. We'd like to help!

Did you try increasing the cursor size to see if that resolves the issue?

System Preferences > Accessibility > Display.

Change Pointer preferences for accessibility on Mac

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
