Why can I not connect my IMAC2021 vie Ethernet to internet. WLAN works fine without problems. My lan works also good with the TV and Hue lamps.

Why can I not connect my IMAC 2021 via Ethernet LAN to the internet. WLAN connection works fine without problems. My LAN network works also fine with the TV and other devices. The IMAC answers there is either no connection to the LAN or the other system do not answer. Did everything make correct according to apple recommendation with the adapter Thunderbolt adapter to RJ45 and a short RJ45 cable. Finally the IMAC do not connect via LAN . The same situation is with my Macbook pro M1 2020 . The system is already Monterey 12.4 on all my Macs.

Thank you for your answer. Think I have the wrong RJ45 adaptor. The right USB-C ( Thunderbolt) to RJ45 is already ordered and the problem should be solved.
