Does the 2022 MacBook Air MagSafe connection handle data

I connect my current MacBook pro to my monitor with one cable. The USB-C connection handles both power and data to the monitor.

Does the new USB-C to MagSafe connection handle just power? Or does it handle both power and data?

Basically, I'm asking, will I be able to use just my USB-C to MagSafe cable between my monitor and MacBook Air? Or will I also need to use one of my USB-C ports too?

Power deliver only is a downgrade for single-cable dock users like myself.

You can still connect the power brick to the Mac with the MagSafe adapter and use your dock at the same time.
