Apple CarPlay plays map navigation guide but doesn’t play any music

I have a iPhone 13 pro. iOS is updated to latest version.

About a month ago the CarPlay suddenly stopped working for any music apps. Before that everything was fine.

I mainly use YouTube music, but also tried playing sounds from Apple Music, YouTube, safari, or other apps. The only app that can still play sound on CarPlay is the map app and CarPlay plays the navigation.

I have tried the followings:

Restart iPhone;

Forget the car and connect to car again;

The EQ in Music setting, it was off, I set to other options and set to off back;

Background app refresh in YouTube music setting, it was on, I turned it off and back on again.

None of them worked for me.

Please help. Any suggestion is appreciated.

It looks like you have tried some great troubleshooting steps this far.

If you haven’t already, make sure your iPhone is updated: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Then, restart both your iPhone and your car to see if the issue persists.

If it does, try enabling Airplane Mode on your iPhone by tapping Settings > AirPlane Mode, and then launching the Music app.
