I cannot open Painter Essentials 8 on my m1 iMac with Monterey

I cannot open Painter Essentials 8 on my m1 iMac with Monterey. I’m told installation was successful but when I try to open the app I get “Painter Essentials unexpectedly quit”.

I have reinstalled several times. Deleted preferences etc still no go.

one thing I don’t do is allow programme to save to external drive - this is a backup drive

any ideas??

Painter 2022 only supports Catalina or Big Sur via Apple's Rosetta2 X86_64 emulation on Apple M1 devices. No mention of Monterey support. Painter Essentials 8 is also only mentioned to be supported on Catalina or Big Sur and no mention of M1 Mac support, only Intel.

Hi all re Painter essentials 8. I noted it could be downloaded from App Store so I did, and wow it works BUT you must monthly or yearly subscribe! As I’ve already bought it and have a code I thought I could enter it but no way!! It is number 8 but does not say so. Then thought I’ll download Essentials 7 and upgrade, but that won’t open either, so if there’s anyone from Corel just a little bit interested …
