Bluetooth Issues with Google Meet

About 2 months ago I was in a Google Meet using my Airpods (generation 1) with my MacBookAir (2017) when the person I was meeting with could not hear me. They said I was coming in and out and crackly. This issue started here and there - no rhyme or reason - but has progressively gotten worse.

About 2 weeks ago, I upgraded to Monterey. Now it happens in almost every Google Meet, but comes and goes throughout the meeting. Once I take my Airpods off and just use my computer my microphone is fine.

I got so frustrated (and thought it was my Airpods) that I went and bought a new pair of Airpods (3rd generation). Unfortunately, I am still having the issue. I also tried another computer (still a MacBook Air 2017 running Monterey 12.4) and I am still having the issue.

This also occurs for me both at home and at work so it is not my internet connection.

2 Locations, 2 Sets of Airpods, 2 Computers all have the same issue - when I am speaking in a Google Meet my audio will drop out or become distorted for others.
