Video flickering

Hi!

I have a weird issue I've been facing for months now. When I try watching something on full screen on Netflix, the video flickers A LOT. I don't know any other Netflix users who face this issue (and tried complaining to them initially) but I don't think the issue is with them!

Any ideas on what to do?

Netflix, tvOS and frame rate 🙃 What’s up with frame-rate on Netflix constantly playing catch-up on Apple TV? Every update it NEVER improves and the latest to my A1842 running TvOS 14.5 (18L204) is still funky. Video is crisp but it does this thing where it slows down and then kicks back to normal speed. It’s very, very subtle and only happens on Netflix. My parent’s and neighbor’s does it too and we all have the same units (all 4K TVs). It will speed up for a split second and then jumps back to normal frame rate I’ve calculated at about every 1-3 seconds of play time. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it so sorry in advance to those who haven’t noticed and now do. Netflix is the only service it happens with too. All other playback from other services is excellent. Is it cache? Is it memory? Is it software? Is it Netflix? I’ve seen several threads regarding this issue and a representative from Apple has yet to specifically address it unless I missed the question somewhere. Thoughts?

netflix quality on apple TV I have the TV and the apple TV4K (previous generation) connected to the same switch. Netflix directly on the TV using the android app: perfect Amazon/HBO on Apple TV: perfect Netflix on Apple TV: horrible, low quality, pixelization, blur, unwatchable Any ideas on how to fix this problem? ps: this may not happen with all titles but is very noticeable in titles such as "the sandman" or the "the power of the dog".

The issue seems to be with Automatic Graphics Switching turned on. To turn it off, go to System Preferences > Battery > Power Adaptor and uncheck the box.

In that case, your computer only has one graphics system, so it isn't that...

I would then suggest resetting your computer's NVRAM/PRAM and SMC according to these instructions.

Thanks for replying @bubba! I don’t see any automatic graphics option turned on it Battery settings though? :/
