Thunderbolt Display Second Connection Cable

Hello, I have a 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display. Can I use a thunderbolt cable connected to the thunderbolt port in the back of the display as a replacement to the built in cable?

I currently use an M1 Macbook Pro. I connect it using Apple's official adapter from thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3, however, the legacy magsafe cable dangles around.

So if it's possible to use the second port as main port, I can roll the cable and tuck it in at the back of the display and have a cleaner look.

I live in Brazil and the cable is expensive, so I want to be positive about the possibility before making any purchase. I've also searched youtube and could find no video on the topic.

Thank you.

Hello Kaz-k

I know about the daisy chain feature. But this is not my intention, and I have just one Thunderbolt Display and the M1 macbook does not accept connection to two external displays.

What I want to do is to keep the cable that comes with the monitor hidden and use a single more clean solution, using the second port as the only connection to the mac.

Anyway, thank you for the collaboration!
