Keyboard lag in Final Cut Pro

Just recently upgraded my older iMac to an M1 mini with an Apple bluetooth keyboard and finding that response time is noticeably slower in Final Cut. Main thing, when I hit the space bar to stop the playhead, it happens a moment later. Not a long time, but enough not to stop where I wanted it to stop. Did not notice this happening before on my 2015 iMac with wired keyboard.

Could it be a bluetooth keyboard issue, or has anyone else noticed this problem? I also notice that sometimes typing lags a moment. Not always, but seems a more recent thing.
