AirPods Connect but can’t be chosen as main sound output

Hi,

upgraded to an iPhone 12 recently, transferred everything over from my old phone and at first my AirPods were working fine. Suddenly they stopped working and I can’t figure out why. It says they are connect but I can’t select them as main audio source. I tried all the solutions suggested on the forums, like forget the device, repair, etc… to no avail. Any other ideas on what to do?

Make sure there's no interference: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support

Also, you may need to reset your AirPods: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support


Try restarting your phone/toggling airplane mode.
