How can I extend the time that photos are visible in screensaver before it changes?

Just display them as desktop wallpaper photographs and you have many options as to how often the image is changed.
Thanks for that but what I meant was 'How to adjust the time that each photo within my chosen screensaver folder is on view'.
Currently, each photo is only up on the screen for about 6 seconds before it goes to the next one which does not give enough time to see all the detail in each photo.

Put the photos in an appropriately named folder.
Right click a blank space on the desktop and select "Change ... Background"
In the left panel find and select the folder.
On the right select how often your want the pic displayed.
System Preferences > Battery > Battery in the list on the left.
Don't think you can do that.
