Hearing aid switch to speaker

I am unable to switch to the speaker to play a video in Photos when I have my hearing aids on. There is no step-by-step solution to this problem on this site. How can I find the speaker icon in this situation? I can easily find the screen with the speaker icon when I am on a call, just not when I am trying to play a video from Photos. I have to take out my hearing aids and disconnect them before I can change to speaker to play video from Photos.
