firmware password not working anymore!

My MAC is not accepting my firmware password. It is the right password but whenever I enter it I am prompted to enter a new one. When I enter a wrong password too it prompts me to enter again (same as when I enter the right password).

If you forgot your firmware password—this includes it failing somehow.

Verify your caps lock is not on, psswd are case sensitive

If you can't remember your firmware password, schedule an in-person service appointment with an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider ( https://locate.apple.com/?apt_Flag=true )

Bring your Mac to the appointment, and bring your original receipt or invoice as proof of purchase.
