Apple Device services missing (windows 10)

I am unable to connect my recently purchased iPod Classic 5.5 enhanced to my PC.

The cord used is not the issue. My PC knows I am connecting a device, yet it gives an error message stating "Device Descriptor Request Failed".

Most online advice just tells you to find your Apple mobile device's USB driver and update it. However, there is one significant problem:

I do not have Apple Device services. I have no Apple Device drivers. After hours of viewing articles and forum posts much like this one, I have yet to find any help regarding the initial installation of these services/drivers.

Could anyone offer any help with this issue? It is not hyperbole when I say that I read over 30 guides and not one of them could help with this problem.

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates and in particular the section Install missing components. If you've installed iTunes from the Microsoft Store you may need to remove it and use the traditional iTunes setup file instead.
