I stupidly removed my WD external drive by dragging it into the trash can and emptying it instead of uninstalling it (I even did that with the uninstaller app without thinking). Now there is a remaining item in my System Preferences extensions. Is there any way to remove it?

I once had a similar glitch with one (AFAIR Cisco AnyConnect VPN) app and solved it by installing it again and then using its uninstaller.
Thanks for this. I found additional files and I deleted those, but that extension won't go away!
Did you restart the Mac?
