Cannot forward articles in mail

After I find a story to forward, I select Share Story, then Mail. At this point, I am taken to a Draft email page which spins endlessly. This began after the most recent iPad update, 15.5 using an iPad PRO 12.9”, 2nd GEN. It happens with all news sources. I do not subscribe to News+. This does not happen with my iPhone 7 PLUS, same update.
