Download prompt when I clicked login button on netflix

I was using express vpn on the French server in order to access an anime movie. When I went to the Netflix website I clicked login button and instead of redirecting me to the login page; a prompt came up. It said “Do you want to allow downloads on Netflix.com”. I thought this was extremely strange so I closed out of Netflix and searched it again on google. But it did the same thing so I pressed accept and it downloaded a file into my downloads folder. The file had 0 kilobytes and was named login. I didn’t open it and immediately trashed it. I turned off the vpn and went back to Netflix and the login button worked. I am 100% certain that the url was in fact Netflix and not a fraudulent website. But I am a little worried; is this a malware or is it normal? And is their any way to check if my system is in fact compromised?
