If you are using a Trackpad change the preferences to make the trackpad work better for you?

Your can always Command drag apps back in from the Applications folder.

Nope you have to be not be a noob in Mac OS! You can always re-add an Application to the Dock!

I'm using a Trackball, but this is not the problem.
I have about 150 (tiny) items in the dock (27" screen) – this might be not ideal.
Or if someone else worked on my Mac...

and this could work. I think it was written for Catalina though, so not sure if it's still "compatible"...
Most any application appearing in the Dock can be removed by error or on purpose.
If that should happen, open the Applications folder and Drag the Application icon back into the dock.
This will create a new Alias to the Application to appear in the Dock
