This Apple ID requires macOS 12.4 or later

I received a new MacBook Pro from my new company. It is managed through a remote management profile, so I must sign in with my company-managed Apple ID. However, when I attempt to do so, I get an error saying "This Apple ID requires macOS 12.4 or later". As far as I can tell, however, there is no option for me to install an update.

The MacBook is on macOS 12.2 and has an Apple silicon chip. I found this out by booting into recovery mode. I couldn't figure out how to update in recovery mode, either.

Is there any course of action for me to take?

Contact your IT department.

Some one with experience with Apple's MDM may have a better answer, but it sounds like the IT dept configured that AppleID with a minimum OS version of 12.4 which means you can't use it to upgrade from previous to 12.4.
