my sons ipad was stolen; received apple id code

I received an apple id code for unknown reasons. I am a trusted device for my sons stolen ipad. What can I do??

As long as the thief doesn't have access to one of the trusted devices, they can't get a code, and sign in. The iPad should okay.

Have you tried using iCloud.com/Find My Phone?
