Acorn Channel Subtitle help

I subscribe to the Acorn channel through the AppleTV app. I was watching a French show on Acorn, using English subtitles, then suddenly, I am only offered subtitles in Spanish. I did not change any setting, and did verify my Apple TV is set to English. I checked episodes I had already watched with English subtitles, and found I could now only access them with Spanish subtitles. So, I’m guessing there was a timing glitch somewhere.



Also, I have no problem accessing English subtitles on any other streamer, including BritBox, which I also subscribe to as a channel (and I access all streaming subscriptions through an AppleTV device). Other shows on the Acorn channel stream just fine with English subtitles. It’s only this one show.


I messaged Acorn, but they’re saying if I subscribe through AppleTV, that it’s not their problem. I can’t fathom that it isn’t a problem in Acorn’s end. Anyone else encounter this or have a suggestion for a fix? TIA
