M1 Mini Mac - Dual Display .. Display not crossing over both monitors.

I have a brand new M1 2020 Mini Mac and i have to monitors connected, One direct HDMI and the other through HDM-thunderbolt adapter. Everything works fine even the extended. However, i cannot span one application on both screens. I used to have a MacBook pro with one external monitor connected and i was able to maximize a application and have it spanned to both display. I use VMMare for my work, and i was able to have VmWare use both the MacBook display and the external monitor as one large display However, im not able to do that with my setup on the mini mac, I use the "Use All display" and Full screen settings on VmMare it only maximizes to a single monitor display, not across both like it used to do with my MacBook. Not sure if thats how it is with mini mac or if i'm missing some setting... any ideas ???... thank you again! .. T

  1. Go to the Displays Preference and make sure that Mirroring is unchecked.
  2. Double check with VMWare support to make sure that it is fully M1 Silicon comparable.

Found the solution.. Den.thed- TY for pointing me to the VMware support site..

Solution. System Pref -> Mission Control ' uncheck "Displays have Separate Spaces" .. logout and restart VMware.

It was a little weird, because one of the post asked to check that option. In my case it was already checked, so i tried unchecking and that did the trick
