Question: Problems with AirPlay, Apple Music and Marantz PM7000N

I have a same issue than the one reported by Grok_that In the end of 2021, and got no reply.


I bought a Marantz P7000 N network amplifier in December 2020, it worked very well until the end of last year and for a few months now it doesn’t work anymore when I’m airplaying music with my Apple Music app.


basically it plays music for 15 to 60 seconds, then disconnects, the music stops, and if I push the play button again on the Apple Music app the sound goes through the iPhone and not Airplay anymore.


I have obviously reset to factory settings identifier, and downloaded the latest software versions.


From a hardware perspective it has been tested and the airplay connection seems to work. It works indeed with the Heos app (which is awful and doesn’t support Apple Music) and Deezer.


So the problem seems to be only related to either iOS 15 and/or Apple Music.


I don’t want to switch to another music app, and the technical centre from Marantz obviously says the airplay works so they will not be very helpful as it seems to be an Apple issue.


Can someone help?

The steps below from the article here can help. If screen mirroring or streaming isn't working on your AirPlay-compatible device


"Try these steps first

After each step, see if you still need help. 

  1. Make sure that your AirPlay-compatible devices are turned on and near each other.
  2. Check that the devices are updated to the latest software and are on the same Wi-Fi network. 
  3. Restart the devices that you want to use with AirPlay or screen mirroring.

If you're prompted to enter a password, you might have restrictions turned on, or you might need to adjust your AirPlay password settings."


The model you've listed isn't showing on the iOS - Home Accessories - Apple page as a AirPlay 2–Enabled Receiver.


However, if the steps in the article shared above don't resolve the issue and as you've done a great job isolating the issue, reach out to Apple Support directly to further assist.
