AppleTV remote suddenly stopped controlling the volume.

Last night my AppleTV remote stopped controlling the volume. Toggled the volume control settings from off to auto, restarted the AppleTV, unplugged HDMI and reconnected from both ends, unplugged HDMI and power together. Nothing.

Any thoughts?

Please try the restart procedure for the remote, as described on: If your Apple TV remote isn't working - Apple Support

Else contact an expert from the Apple Support staff for further assistance. Contact Apple for support and service (phone numbers) or start your support request online (chat/email/callback).

Seems to be a bug with last appltv update.

On my side, volume is controlled only using Infrared, so i’m forced to align the remote with the television.

I have same problem switching off the appletv, it only work in front of the TV because the remote also send IR directly to the TV

Normally everything should work this way if apple want to fix this bug:

Remote <->AppleTV<->HDMI CEC <->TV

AppleTV remote suddenly stopped controlling the volume.
