Edit a document Scanned to my iPad

I have been trying to figure out how to edit/type on a document that I scanned from my Epson printer to my IPad. I have sent it as a JPEG and as a PDF…..sent it to Pages….sent it to Files…sent it to EPSON app…sent it to Google Docs….I just can’t type on the document. I know it’s possible because I have been sent many legal documents that I had to type on and send back.


Why is this so difficult? Am I missing an app I should have? I am using an IPad Pro 3rd Generation if that helps. My MacBook is outdated and when I got this last Christmas, we had hoped that this would do almost everything that I need it to.


Any help would be appreciated …..before I have to pay Apple to get a solution. Thank you in advance.

You require a PDF editor. None are provided with iPadOS. So you would have to purchase one in the App Store.


Send the document as a PDF as you have done - never a JPEG. Search the App Store for a PDF editor.


(I have used PDFPen in the past. I no longer use an iPad PDF editor, but I was pleased with PDFPen when I used it years ago. I have no financial interest in this product or company, and have certainly not kept up with its progress over the years.)
