Adding Exchange account in Mac System Preferences

I'm able to log into my work microsoft account in Safari and Chrome without any problems, but in System Preferences, I get an error. I go to System Preferences, and Internet Accounts. In Internet Accounts, I select Microsoft Exchange. I get the Microsoft Login window, and can enter my username, password, and the 2-factor authorization code. After that, I get this error and the account doesn't get added.

I'm on Mac OS 12.4. None of our other Mac users can log in either. Our endpoint admin has talked extensively with Microsoft and Apple, and each says it's not their fault. Has anybody else had this happen?

Why do you want to log in there?

My company just uses Outlook and Teams with a Microsoft 365 account.

We have users on Mac Mail and Calendar as well as third-party apps like Fantastical. Those apps rely on the Internet Accounts for their setup.

What's the error you see?

I have have an Exchange Mail account I use with Apple Mail via System Preferences and have no issues.
