DVD Player on Mac I have a new MacBook Pro and the software is up to date, but when I plug in an external DVD player, the app isn't on my computer won't read that it's connected even though settings are checked to read CDs and DVDs.

External DVD not working with new MacBook Air I purchased an external DVD player, off brand name and when I hook it up to my new MacBook Air the screen opens up but it stays black and I can hear the DVD playing. You likely have an older Mac with the internal DVD player. They do get old and eventually fail. Do you have any additional information you can provide to us to consider? At this point, you have provided us with no information as to the year of your Mac or what specifically does and does not happen.
