Why won’t the phone let you type a number for call backs

While using the phone it will not let you do surveys or push a number for a call back

Unable to text/reply to a 5 digit number I am getting bounced when I try to reply to a 5 digit text number. I am not blocking them as far as I can see. My phone account allows me to make £10 of "extra" calls/texts (so far my spend is zero). It is very annoying, I almost had a restaurant reservation cancelled because of this. Frustrated is not the word!

Can't make toll free calls on my Iphone. 1-800, 1-866 etc. I have had this problem recently. The resolution is NOT to dial the "1" in front of the toll free number. Example, dial only 800-555-1212.
