Migrate or Copy moving from Catalina to Monterey?

When replacing iMac i7 running Catalina with a MacBook Pro M1should I do a clean install on the MacBook M1 or use Migration Assistant?

can i migrate from catalina to monterey I have a 2014 Macbook Pro running Catalina 10.15.7. I just purchased a new Macbook Pro running Monterey. I can't upgrade to Monterey on my old Macbook Pro because I don't have enough hard drive space. Can I migrate old to new with the two different OS?

Use migration assistant at first run to bring across only your files and settings,. If you do, you can keep all your saved passwords.
