I bought Best Buy open box AirPods Max but they are registered to an unknown previous owners iCloud account, what can I do?

Is there anything I can do to get the previous owners Find My App to be unregistered from a set of AirPods max that I bought used / Open Box from Best Buy? When I first connected the AirPods max to my iPhone it warned me that they were registered with a different iCloud acct and that they can track me. Plus I’m unable to track the AirPods in my own Find My App if I leave them somewhere.
