I want to view two pages of a pdf file at once in Preview. I went to View -> Two Pages, but this doesn't do anything. It's still only showing one page at a time. I've resized windows and that doesn't help either.
What's the malfunction here?

FWIW, when you view a multi-page PDF in two page view, the first page (which would be the right page in a book or magazine), will be displayed alone. When you scroll to the next page (page 2) page 2 and 3 will be displayed next to each other, and so on.

The behavior of Preview with n-tuple pages in Two Page mode has been explained. Adobe Acrobat Reader DC will show the first two pages side-by-side at a page reduction, though one can enlarge by zooming ± or increasing the application interface by dragging.
