iPad Pro 5th HDMI video input

👋 I’m curious about using currently available iPad Pro as an monitor viewer for my camera (Blackmagic Pocket Camera 4k). Is it possible to screen hdmi signal into the iPad? (Wirelessly or via cable)

As I noticed Sony provides similar functionality with some iPad app and it works just fine.

iOS/iPadOS devices do not support direct input of video signals for display (as a monitor) or video capture.

While the iPad can output HDMI video via a display adapter appropriate for the iPad model - or for the 2021 models of iPad Pro, directly via DP Alternate Mode over USB-C - the iPad fundamentally does not support input from an HDMI source.

It is possible however to view the video output from some cameras, but only by using a manufacturer supplied companion App. For example, it is possible to both remotely control and view the output of a GoPro Hero camera with the GoPro Quik App over WiFi.
