I have an iPad without mobile data, and want to use my iPhone as a personal hotspot.
I have the latest software on both, and my wife’s iPad can be used for providing the hotspot, but my iPhone can’t.
I open settings then tap on my iPhone and I get Remote Hotspot Failure, Unable to start personal hotspot “ My iphone”, click on ok and nothing happens.
Any help in this matter would be much appreciated as I’m in a field camping with no internet on my iPad

You find out by contacting your carrier. It may be possible to look up the information in your account on your carrier's website but, I suspect calling them will be easier in this case.
Contact your cell plan provider. Hotspot needs to be turned on in the phone and activated by your plan provider.
Does your cell plan include hotspot functionality?
