HDCP in 2022 - External Display
Hi all,
I've found many (likely) outdated threads on this topic, most of them seeming to originate around the time HDCP really started to roll out over a decade ago. Today I'd like to request some assistance with HDCP and video content from Apple's apps.
My daily set-up consists of my main display which is HDCP compliant (I just tripled checked), and an older monitor with only VGA and DVI inputs. It's a freebie that I got a few years ago and that makes it a cost effective solution for me. You can probably guess where this is going... despite my HDCP compliant monitor I cannot partake of video content as long as my external display is connected.
My main display takes the HDMI port out of my 2018 Mac Mini, while a USB-C port goes out to my older, external display. The adaptation is as follows:
USB-C to HDMI (F) < HDMI (M) to DVI (F) adaptor < DVI to display.
Is anyone aware of a solution? Do I have to resort to convoluted Terminal stuff to enjoy content that I am not pirating?
Thank you.
Mac mini, macOS 12.5
