macair keyboard keys fading

Keys on MacBook Air keyboard (Retina 13" - purchased Nov 2019) are fading, with the letters becoming invisible, despite careful use in rustproof environment. Apple has announced an extended 4-year warranty and settlement program for machines sold during 2015-19 due to keyboard issues. Local service providers recognise the fading keys, but say the warranty covers only 'non-responsive keys'. Has anyone faced this issue and found solution? Thanks.

I never have and my Mac usage is extensive and daily.

There have been others posting here with the problem. There is no fix other than a keyboard replacement and that's not going to be cheap.

You can buy key stickers; they are cheap: https://www.amazon.com/keyboard-stickers/s?k=keyboard+stickers

I know, ugly workaround for a Mac but unless you are very skilled with a black Sharpie pen it may be your only cost effective option.
