Trying to install Garageband 6.05 on Mojave

I have an older MacBook Pro (13" mid 2012). I just erased the drive and did a fresh install of Mojave. I also applied all of the available updates for Mojave. I want to use Garageband to record drum tracks in my home studio. The support provided in Garageband 6.05 is adequate for my needs. I went to the App Store, signed in, clicked on my user name and found the list of Apps I previously purchased. Garageband 6.05 was there. However, the download can't seem to complete. It halts with the error and notification shown in the attached screen shots. I've tried a number of times at various times of the day etc.. I found other articles here where users successfully installed GB 6 on Mojave from the App Store. Hoping someone can help me figure this out. Or possibly suggest another way of obtaining an older compatible version of GB I can use. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello Hypercussion,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand you're unable to redownload Garageband 6.05 on macOS Mojave. We'll be happy to help.

Our recommendation is to ensure that your Mac is not connected to a VPN network and is not using a third party security software that might be interfering with the server for the App Store. This may prevent the ability to re-download GarageBand. If needed, here's a helpful article on how to disconnect from a VPN network: Change VPN settings in Network preferences on Mac - Apple Support

If that doesn't help and you continue to experience the same behavior, we recommend to sign into a different user account on your Mac and see if you can re-download GarageBand. You do have the option to create a test user account if there's no existing user on the Mac. Here's how: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support

Following these steps may help you to re-download GarageBand. We look forward to hearing back from you with an update.

Best regards.
