What is the Home folder?
In System Preferences, in the list of folders we can select to sync via iCloud, Home is listed. What exactly is this referring to, as there's no actual "Home" folder on my Mac?
iMac 27″ 5K, macOS 11.6

Do you mean this?
This is NOT a "home folder". This has to do with other "smart devices" that you may want to control from icloud.
An example would be smart lamp bulbs, or Apple's HomePod.
If you have no such devices, you can safely ignore this.

The Home folder is the top level folder for a user. One way to see it is to use the Finder "Go" menu and click Home there. Another way is to click your user name in the Finder sidebar.
However I'm not aware of any option to sync the entire Home folder with iCloud or where in System Preferences you might be seeing that.
It's there, I posted a pic showing it, but Apple removed it, because it contained personal information...
Can you describe where it is in System Preferences?
Thank you Luis! That solves my confusion...
