Dynamic Volume Control setting not available for iPad Air gen 5 on iPadOS 15.6?

I have reviewed forum suggestions noting that Dynamic Volume control should be available for gen 5 iPad Air running iPad OS 15.4 or higher, however the setting is absent from my device which is running iPad OS 15.6:

The supported device description from this page: Use the Home, side, and other buttons on your iPad - Apple Support claims that iPad Air gen 5 (2022) is supported.

However- the firmware notes for iPadOS 15.4 only lists iPad Air Gen 3 and 4 as supported (not the 2022 gen): About iPadOS 15 Updates - Apple Support

Was iPad Air gen 5 supported on 15.4 but not carried over to 15.6? I have seen a few other complaints about this but do not see a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated.
