SSD Missing firmware partition

Hi,

I'm trying to reinstall macOS Big Sur on an M1 MacBook Air stuck in recovery mode. I've refortmatted to SSD with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and a GUID partition and used terminal to set up the Big Sur installer. Everytime I proceed to hook the drive into the Macbook stuck in recovery mode the message a message pops up informing me that my SSD is not properly partitioned. I've tried running first aid on the drive; nothing appears to be corrupted.

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How to reinstall macOS

And choose the Option for Apple Silicon Computers

First error was attempting to Format the Drive as HFS + (Journaled) / GUID

The drive requires to newer APFS / GUID format
