iPhone ios 15.6 and Airport Express 2 Airplay issue

This is weird. I have my airport express 2 (AE2) connected to my network via ethernet. Bridge mode, no wireless mode. Until about 3 weeks ago, airplay worked great with Apple Music by just choosing the Express in the airplay menu. However, since latest ios update, Apple music will not play to my AE2 via. Plays fine to my other devices that take Airplay like ATV and Sony sound bar airplay. My other music apps on my phone play fine to that AE2. Just Apple Music. I did a fresh install of the AE2 and updated, erased my phone and started from scratch....same thing, My wife's phone and iPad with 15.6 will not play either but other apps do. Music on my iMac plays fine to the AE2. I triple check all settings, reset my router/modem...you name it. The ONLY thing that has changed is the 15.6 ios update. Any thoughts or possible solutions?

I could not find any mention of the same or similar issue over in the iPhone support area, and I can't remember a similar post on this AirPort area.

For what its worth, the two iPhones here running iOS 15.6 work just fine with AirPlay on an AirPort Express that is set up the same way as yours......Ethernet only, Wi-Fi not enabled, etc.

I have not changed any settings. Did not even restart the AirPort Express after the latest update was installed on the iPhones. Will play around with changing some settings, resetting the AirPort Express etc and will report if I find anything.

Is there any chance that you might have VPN software installed on the iPhones or an anti-virus app?
