Why won’t the location of my AirTag update when it’s out of Bluetooth connection with my phone? As soon as it is further than 15 m away it location won’t update

because it's only means of communication is bluetooth
if you are out of range and no other iphones with bluetooth enabled and connected to the internet
that it can piggibag it's data across the internet to you, then it's dead in the water, being since it have not gps it's really
the location of the other persons iphone it send you to.
