When I attempt to buy AppleCare for my new MacBook purchased within the last couple of months my Mac is not eligible. This doesn't make sense to me. Ca anyone tell me why this is?

AppleCare+ or AppleCare are not available to everyone out there. That starts with your location. See if you location is listed here: AppleCare Protection Plan Countries/Regions - Apple Support

You can buy AppleCare+ within 60 days of your device purchase. See: AppleCare Products - Mac - Apple.
If you still have issues, contact Apple: Get Support.

This was purchased new online in USA. I live in USA. I currently have an active AppleCare monthly subscription for my iPad. My son who is an Apple employee purchased this Mac for me online and under my name.
This item was shipped by Apple on May 31 2022 and did not receive until 5 days later. So I did not own it until then because it was built and not available until that date. I am a life long Apple customer and my son is an Apple employee who ordered this for me. Can you kick this up and ask for an exception. Thank you
