I recently bought apple airpod pros directly from the apple store, however, they will not charge with the lightning cable that I use to charge my phone every single day -- they will charge for a few seconds, and then stop charging, but even after messing with this for a while, if I leave the airpods in their case they will go down to 0% battery very quickly.
What do I do about these broken airpod pros?

If your AirPods won’t charge
Note: when you plug in the AirPods case to charge, the light comes on
for a few seconds, and then goes off, but the case is still charging.

Returning these:
Just how recent is "recent"? You have 14 days to return these. So, if they are not charging properly, and they are not meeting your satisfactions, then you should just return them.
