Dual display suggestions for late 2013 iMac?

Hi folks, can I use a dual display with a late 2013 iMac and if so does anyone have any low cost suggestions? I was thinking about buying either an old second hand Apple Thunderbolt display, or an old second hand 27" iMac... but maybe there are better solutions out there?

It would be to use for better work flow / extra desktop & finder space when working on video/music/multimedia projects, not for gaming.

Thanks

Hey there J2011,

We recommend looking over the details below and the supporting link regarding display compatibility:

Video Support and Camera
• FaceTime HD camera
• Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to a 30-inch display (2560 by 1600 pixels) on an external display
• Support for extended desktop and video mirroring modes
• Support for Target Display Mode via the Thunderbolt port using a Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt cable (sold separately)

Take care!
