Siri not working since updating to IOS 16

16.0.3. Changing language from American to Canadian fixed Siri, but does not fix dictation.

Changing to Canadian AND switching the voice to a non-American voice, and retraining “hey siri” fixes it all.

not sure it coincided with the update…but happening for a few weeks.

even with most basic stuff like “open this app”

tried everything people said…nothing worked…

backed up the phone to icloud…

did a full erase and restore…

fixed it….

took ?30 minutes…slightly painful but in the end prob less than all the time wasted looking for answers and trying stuff that did not work…

Running iOS 16.0.2 and Siri stopped working. Looking for this on the developer forum and found a solution. Changing Siri language from English (US) to English (UK) fixed this. Changing back to English (US) and Siri stopped working again.

I went through retraining Siri. Turn off listen for Hey Siri and go through the steps again. Seems to be working now.

I didnt have the problem with the beta version, but the iOS 16. My Siri wasn't working, I just changed from American English to Australian English and kept the same voice (American English Voice 3) and now it is working.

It’s October 13 and I just got it to work again. First, I did everything of all the recommended actions. And then I got to this forum.

Next I change the voice from American English to British English. It worked for a minute to send one text, and then would not recognize my voice dictation for a use such as this.

and then I tried once again, doing the force quit thing on my iPhone 12 pro max. And now it works again! Eureka! Thank you for this community, my people.

The same exact thing for me. Siri stopped working when I went from 16.0 to 16.0.3. English (UK) seems to be a temporary fix for now.

I was able to get it to work by doing that and only after also freeing up some space on my phone. I only had 60 megabytes free so I cleaned up some room and now it works.

Siri stopped working when I upgraded to IOS 16. Since it’s no longer beta, anyone have ideas on solving the problem?

I tried this, as well as switching languages, but I still get nothing but the blue ball at the bottom of the screen. No response by Siri and it doesn’t respond to voice using Hey Siri or press and hold the right button.
