iPhone XR not turning on. Apple sign flashing, then battery sign comes on, then back onto apple sign. Have tried restart on itunes, didn't work.

Has anyone had trouble with iPhone XR. Phone just stopped working, the phone screen has gone black with the apple logo coming on intermittently. Sometimes the battery logo comes up and it is in red. I have tried to restart with the side buttons as suggested by apple, didn't work. I have also tried to plug the phone in and do a restart through itunes as advised but still nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
